Abrasive Wheels

Duration: Half day

Offered as a one-day or half-day course, this National Plant Operators Registration Scheme (NPORS) accredited programme is designed for operators of abrasive wheels who have no or little prior experience.

With an extensive range of equipment, our instructors are able to tailor the course to the working environment/sector of delegates (with the exception of large mounted pedestal grinders) or, alternatively, clients can opt to have training delivered on-site.

Ensuring delegates are competent in safety awareness with regards to the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, Abrasive Wheels Regulations 1970, the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998, and the Personal Protective Equipment at Work Regulations 1992, the course will provide delegates with the ability to:

  • Identify the various types of abrasive wheels
  • Carry out pre-start checks on electrical/petrol hand held and bench mounted abrasive wheels
  • Carry out wheel/disc changing procedure
  • Carry out mounting dressing procedure for fixed machines

Certification

Upon successful completion of the course, delegates will be provided with a NPORS Card (fee required) or Parallel Training certificate as proof of qualification.
